Hot Eats, Cool Treats! Dairy Queen was established in 1940 by J.F. McCullough, he opened the first restaurant in Joliet, Illinois. Upon developing the recipe for their soft serve ice cream, Dairy Queen sold over 1,600 servings within the first two hours. Shortly after opening in Joliet, Dairy Queen began using the franchise system to expand operations globally. There are currently over 7,000 locations that are operating in 25 various countries across the globe. Fred Olivieri Construction Company began working with different Dairy Queen franchisees in 2020, and we have since built or remodeled 9 of their restaurants. These are tight, 12-week construction schedules.
